It Is Me...Really!

I filled out all of the paperwork. It is a done deal. I am Shane Birley, and dammit, I am someone.

The paperwork I filled out is this paper you need to fill in with all kinds of information regarding who and what you are. It was for my Canadian Passport. It was amaing that I had to find all kinds of inventive ways to persuade other that I am who I am. What is identity anyway? It seems bizarre. But, I was warned that identity theft is a horrible experience that anyone can go through.

Ah, the paranoid culture...isn't it great?

Dragging the Sail

Ah, yes, here I am again in front of the computer writing my brains out. I have been just flowing out the junk today -- I have determined that all writing is junk until it has been edited to death. This, of course, does not apply to my blogger since I never edit it. So, I am working on some stuff to submit to different online magazines. I figure that if I am able to get some stuff out there electronically, I will be able to edit my way into the print magazines. I think there are a lot of great self published stuff out there, but a lot of people never see them.

What else do I do? I talk out loud, record it, and post it on line. I chatter about all kinds of things. Some of the things are nerdy, some professional, and some of them are very much NSFW. Why? Because do them for myself and my non-work life. You can be the judge.

I do a little traveling here and there for technology conferences and what not. Here are the ones I am going to next or have attended recently.
