There is some good news regarding the problems with JetsGo. We contacted Visa Canada and asked what we should do. They said:

VISA Cardholders who purchased a Jetsgo ticket on their VISA card and are unable to take their scheduled flight due to Jetsgo's decision to cease operations will be reimbursed. VISA cardholders are advised to contact their VISA issuer to obtain specific information on how to receive a refund.

VISA cardholders in transit can contact the Visa emergency line at 1-800-847-2911 for emergency travel assistance.

So, we got our money back.  That is amazing! Thanks, Visa!

The big news this morning (although, I heard it late last night) is that JetsGo, one of the discount airlines in Canada, has filed and is asking for protection from creditors.

This is big news around this household this morning, as we had tickets booked with JetsGo for a trip back east for a family wedding at the end of July. We decided to go with JetsGo because we just wanted to save a little cash and try out a new airline. Normally, we would have gone with WestJet - but we just wanted to be different.

But, now, we have learned a very valuable lesson. If a company says they are having problems we will shop with a different airline. But, how does that help an airline in trouble? Can't people support those airlines even if they are having problems?

What if the rumours were not true? If someone started a rumour that the airline was in trouble, wouldn't they go under just because of some false statements? I guess the courts deal with this kind of thing all the time. How odd. Go and support someone and - boom - they let you down.

Silly JetsGo.

What else do I do? I talk out loud, record it, and post it on line. I chatter about all kinds of things. Some of the things are nerdy, some professional, and some of them are very much NSFW. Why? Because do them for myself and my non-work life. You can be the judge.
