Bizarre. I didn't open up my blog editor and plan this to be my topic. But, a click here and there and - wham - I am sucked into the cruddy world of Wal-Mart.

It is no secret that I dislike Wal-Mart. I haven't made a purchase in any Wal-Mart establishment for some time and I hope to never again darken their door. What I have found this evening is a whole new attack on Wal-Mart has begun.

A new documentary about Wal-Mart's business practices is coming out in the fall.

A web site dedicated to enhancing communication for employees provides a lot of information about how employees (sorry, isn't it partners or something?) are treated in various locations.

And a great blog about the comings and goings of Wal-Mart has a lot of good information.

Wal-Mart is just one of those companies with a goal of keeping prices artifically low. Stores move into an area and put unrelenting pressure on the surrounding businesses to compete - when, realistically, they are not able to because Wal-Mart can, even when they are losing money.

So, what happens when the other stores close? Wal-Mart's prices go back up. Welcome to the world that Wal-Mart has created.

Just in case you didn't know, I co-wrote Blogging For Dummies! Before you send me any congratulations, questions, flowers, or blow me any number of kisses  - why don't you go buy ten copies and make me rich and famous.

Or you could just buy a copy since it is a really good book and it has loads of great information for those of you out there who want to jump into blogging because it is fun and exciting.

podcasting

What else do I do? I talk out loud, record it, and post it on line. I chatter about all kinds of things. Some of the things are nerdy, some professional, and some of them are very much NSFW. Why? Because do them for myself and my non-work life. You can be the judge.
