As a quick follow up to my last post about the number of Starbucks in Vancouver, I just checked out Mark Malkoff’s latest stunt.  According to his site, Mark Lives In Ikea, he is being allowed to live in an Ikea store for a week while his own apartment is being fumegated.

He is documenting his experience on video and will be posting updates every day.  He just moved in on the 7th of January, so, expect more videos over this next week.

It reminded me of Emotion Eric and his adventure at Ikea a number of years ago.  I wonder whatever happened to Eric Conveys an Emotion.  I suppose he became too busy to be an Internet personality.  Or maybe he had stalkers.  Or did he get a life?  Perhaps I should take up the torch.

Why do I care?  I don’t really but I checked this out on Digg today and thought it was one of the most insane challenges in an urban world.  According to Mark Malkoff, there are 171 Starbucks in New York.  He managed to visit each and every single Starbucks in less than 24 hours.

It got me thinking about how many Star Bucks are in Vancouver?  According to their web site there are quite a few in the area.

It looks like there are approximately 119 stores in Vancouver, but if you stretch the search out to include the Lower Mainland there are about 300.  I am curious how many there in just Vancouver proper and I couldn’t seem to make it work as well as I would have hoped.  In the downtown core alone it appears there are roughly 58.  Makes you want to drink water all the time.

What else do I do? I talk out loud, record it, and post it on line. I chatter about all kinds of things. Some of the things are nerdy, some professional, and some of them are very much NSFW. Why? Because do them for myself and my non-work life. You can be the judge.
