CBC's The National: A Peek Behind ShanesWorld.ca
The CBC dropped me an e-mail today and asked if I would consider myself a "heavy internet user". I laughed, snickered, and had a few hardy gafaws. I then wrote back and said I was, without a doubt, a hardcore heavy internet user.
A few moments later our telephone rang and they confirmed they were on the way.
I asked why they called us up to ask and he told us StatsCan came out with a report talking about how Canadians were using their Internet time. It is only twenty seven pages long and is a quick read, so, check it out. Essentially, what the report documents how heavy Internet use affects chores, housework, and interpersonal relationships. Gak. What a boring topic. How were they going to make that "sexy"? Oh, wait - this means I would be on television? Sweet! Me! Me! Pick me!
They showed up, wandered around our house and decided to interview us separately.
I was sure I would be slandered!
No, I am kidding. They talked to each of us, asked us similar questions and I think it will be quite entertaining. Serendipity also made a cameo appearance. She is such a camera hog - adding, yet again, to her "supafamous" status. I did take a few photos to document the event.
Because I am a hardcore CBC supporter - I did recognize Chris Brown and had a moment of "celebrity sighting" excitement. He was very laidback and incredibly cool. I told him he should be a blogger. Mike the camera guy rocked too!
Apparently, it will be on tonight - of course, on The National. Thanks for watching.
UPDATE:
What's with this "probably heavy". I am overweight! I admit it!
