Let The Eating Begin: But Don't Forget The Canadian Homeless

We again have reached that time of year when people walk about and talk about how much weight they will either keep off or gain.  The rich (bad for you) foods are out and baked.  The drink is flowing and the presents are being wrapped.  Families are running around and going insane.

But, I can't help but think of those who are not as fortunate as I am.  I want everyone to remember there are people out there who are not able to over eat and enjoy the company of their family.

In 1999 the Government of Canada announced the National Homelessness Initiative, a three-year initiative designed to help ensure community access to programs, services and support for alleviating homelessness in communities located in all provinces and territories.

The Government of Canada has renewed the National Homelessness Initiative for an additional three years with an investment of $405 million. Under this initiative communities will be provided with the supports to further implement measures that assist homeless individuals and families in achieving and maintaining self-sufficiency.

Sometimes I feel guilty for having a good life.  But, then again, we can only do so much.  I donate but maybe I can do more.  In either case, here is a list of some important organizations who help the homeless:

About Me

buy the book, blog your world, feel like a million bucks

Just in case you didn't know, I co-wrote Blogging For Dummies! Before you send me any congratulations, questions, flowers, or blow me any number of kisses  - why don't you go buy ten copies and make me rich and famous.

Or you could just buy a copy since it is a really good book and it has loads of great information for those of you out there who want to jump into blogging because it is fun and exciting.

podcasting

What else do I do? I talk out loud, record it, and post it on line. I chatter about all kinds of things. Some of the things are nerdy, some professional, and some of them are very much NSFW. Why? Because do them for myself and my non-work life. You can be the judge.

events

I do a little traveling here and there for technology conferences and what not. Here are the ones I am going to next or have attended recently.
