The Second Night
Last night was a tough crowd. It happens with the second night of any live performance. The night after opening was like performing to an audience of corpses. The audience was disinterested in being there and they started yawning in the first act. After the intermission we realized that about a third of the audience had left. Did I mention that this show was sold out?
So, why would this happen? There is a couple of reasons: the tickets were given to the audience by their employer and because the the audience was thin and disinterested, the actors were disinterested and wanting to go home rather than perform. To me, free tickets means there is no real desire to see the show. The second reason is that since the audience was not all that interested the actors were not wanting to perform.
Ah, well. I suppose today will be better. The show should go off without a hitch. I hope that people will really like it since it is closing night tonight.
And...I....have.....a......cold. Dammit. Throat hurts...augh.
