My career is done. I have been teaching swimming for almost nine years. I have enjoyed it but things at my job are not going well, health wise. In May of ths year, I took a few weeks off to travel in Europe. I had a good time and a few days after I came back, I returned to teaching in the pool. Everything was like before execept I started coughing - a whole lot.
A few days into my teaching (post-trip) I had to go to the doctor. After a few tests, it was concluded that my lungs were enflamed because of exposure to chlorine. (Gee, I wonder where that chlorine came from.)
I was told I needed to leave the profession. Look at me, sounding all "professional" about my swimming career. I started this process years ago. I liked swimming and thought it would be something I could share and teach. I don't think I have been all that clear about it. I think when I started I just wanted a job and I was able to get this one because I worked hard for it.
